Constitution Amendment Information Session

On Wednesday, April 3rd, an informational session was held at the Clubhouse to review proposed amendments to the Constitution. Approximately 30 people were in attendance. The session opened with president, Gretchen Du Peza, presenting a brief overview of governance at the AWCZ, as well as background and explanations for the proposed amendments. Thereafter, the floor was opened for comments from the audience.

The following key points were highlighted during the discussion:

Comprehension and timeliness of information sharing
Operational flexibility
Clarity and simplicity of language
Building consensus and cooperation

Help the Nominating Committee

board-of-directors-500x375 December 1, 2012 - We're looking for a few good women! Help us put together the 2013-14 Slate of officers to lead the AWCZ. The Nominating Committee is looking for two or three people to assist in recruiting individuals to serve on the Executive Committee next year.

We welcome your suggestions for any executive officer positions. The Executive committee is made up of: President, VP Communications, VP Events, VP Clubhouse, VP Member Relations, Treasurer and Secretary. Send your recommendations to Nominations soon. The election of the 2013-14 Officers will take place at the April 2013 Annual General Meeting.

Don't forget - you can nominate yourself!

Offering a recap of the Club year just ending, an overview of our current financial situation, election of officers for the 2013-14 Club year approval of amendments to our Constitution and a sneak peak at what's in store for the aWCZ in coming year this is the most important event of the year. All members are encourages to attend. Register Now!
Not able to attend? Be sure to send your ballot and proxy form to the Nominations Chair or give to a fellow member in good standing.

Der Empfang ist herzlich. Auf dem improvisierten Buffet stehen Mini-Cheesecakes und Cookies. Das Bier ist aus dem Appenzell, die Gäste aus Amerika. Im «American Women’s Club» hat René Rousseau zum «Debate Watch» geladen, zur Vorführung der zweiten US-Präsidentschaftsdebatte auf der Leinwand.

Asian Luncheon and Fashion Show Meets Fundraising Goal...and Still Rising!

The Wells for Clean Water, Cambodia fundraiser raises more than just a raindrop - thanks to AWCZ members and guests

On October 2 the AWCZ Asian Extravaganza, benefiting FAWCO's Target Project Tabitha – Cambodia raised over CHF4500 in support of the Wells for Clean Water, Cambodia project. Over 70 members and guests attended the spectacular event including special guest, Honorary Consul General of Cambodia Nay Chheng Hay, who spoke to the group about Cambodia and the need for available clean water. Consul Nay's talk was especially heartfelt because he also lends a helping hand several times per year to build clean water wells in Cambodia.
