The AWCZ is privileged to maintain one of the largest English-language libraries in the Zurich area. Fully volunteer run for over 85 years, the Library at our Clubhouse features an extensive collection of fiction and nonfiction for all ages (kids, teenagers, and adults).

Our Library is open on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10:00-16:00.

Summer hours (from July 8, 2026 to August 15, 2026) are Wednesdays, from 10:00-16:00

Please join us for a casual lunch at the Fischergarten self-service restaurant located directly on the Lake of Zurich. It’s a nice way to connect with other members in a relaxed setting.

Directions: Take Tram 15 to the Fröhlichstrasse stop. Head towards the lake and it is approximately a 10 minute walk. Alternatively you can take the boat from Bürkliplatz at 11:00 to the Zürihorn stop.

If you can't make this Lunch Bunch, we will be meeting again 14 August.

Evening Wine & Cheese & Book Club (September 08, 2026)

The Evening Wine & Cheese & Book Club meets (usually) on the second Tuesday of every month, except in August. We are a diverse group of people from all corners of the AWCZ who enjoy reading and discussing books of all genres; past reading lists have included memoir, Pulitzer Prize-winning literary fiction, YA fantasy, essay collections, genre/ speculative fiction, middle grade, thriller, romance, literature in translation, and more. Special events include our light-hearted "Filthy February," when we read a romance novel and fill out romance-trope-themed Bingo cards (for a prize!), and our annual "Fourth of July Beach Read Yankee Swap".

We decide our reading list via discussion and survey, five books at a time. Our 2026 Autumn / Winter reading list is:

Originally for breast cancer patients after surgery, these lovely cushions have reached a far greater audience and in many cases have been seen as a heartfelt (pun intended) message of solidarity during a difficult time. No sewing skills are required, but those who want to sew, can.

Crochet hats for the children - Gift Box Project

Crochet a hat or hats for disadvantaged children to help them during the winter months. As part of a larger gift box, they are the first present some of these kids have ever received. For experienced crocheters, a pattern will be provided. If you’re a beginner and would like to learn, come along and we’ll teach you. Yarn and hooks will be available.

Entry buys you questions, snacks, supper, and a chance at the Lucky Door prize. Drinks and raffle tickets can also be purchased.

Paul Bingaman, our new MC, will steer the evening and all proceeds will go to our Club-sponsored charity, Cancer Support Switzerland.

At each playgroup, we will have circle time with songs and books, plus open play and a craft. Moms can swap stories and tips with each other over a hot coffee.
