About USFounded in 1931, the American Women’s Club of Zurich welcomes US and North American citizens and women of all nationalities who appreciate the American way of life. We are a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing opportunities for friendship and personal development. We also actively engage in philanthropic and community service projects in the greater Zurich region, throughout Switzerland and in the larger global community. Our MembersOur membership consists of hundreds of international women of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Some of us just arrived to Zurich while others have lived here for over 40 years. The AWCZ is non-partisan. LanguagesThe Club’s working language is English, but we also speak German, Swiss German, French, Italian, and other languages. Charitable WorkWe’ve supported many local organizations and charities over the years, especially through PhASE and FAWCO. In recent years, we have been involved with Tischlein deck dich, Terre des hommes (TDH), Pink Ribbon Cancer Walk, Schweizer Berghilfe, Biovision, Flying Croissant, Kindertreff KL-Einstein and FIZ. FIZ (Fachstelle Frauenhandel and Frauenimmigration) is the current Club-sponsored charity. |
