The Round Robin is in a time of transition. We need volunteers to produce the magazine. The Round Robin has been completely redesigned and in an effort to take advantage of this resource, we are searching for an Editor and a Photo Editor. Time Commitment estimates are a best guess. For an idea of the Round Robin, please check out the Nov-Dec 2024 issue. If you have further questions, contact Elaine Sieff editor@awczurich.org
Photo Editor The Round Robin relies on photos to enhance its articles. We are looking for someone with an interest in choosing and editing photos for including in the magazine. Interest in photography is a plus as is a good eye. You‘ll need to choose photos for inclusion and obtain the necessary permissions, and identify photo subjects. For an example, check out the most recent Round Robin, Nov-Dec 2024.
Time commitment - 30 hours or less during the production cycle.
Editor
The Round Robin editor shapes the format of each issue, sending out requests for content, collecting content and assigning copy editors. The editor writes a summary of the issue linking it to club events. Some editing skill is helpful, as are organizational skills, keeping track of input so everything is assembled. You will need to be willing to learn the basics of the software used to produce the Round Robin. You will work closely with the designer and photo editor, and a variety of authors and editors.
Time commitment - 40 hours or less during the production cycle. By Elaine Sieff Round Robin Chair Round Robin Layout Designer

Do you have books gathering dust on your shelves? Instead of letting them sit unread, why not give them a second life? The AWCZ Library is inviting members to "Book It Forward" by donating gently used books that they no longer need. Your donation helps the club save money, supports sustainability, and ensures that books continue to bring joy to new readers.
The library requests that donated books be less than three years old and not already in its catalog. Ready to de-clutter and make a difference? Contact the Library Chair at library@awczurich.org for more details!

On the night of September 7, the AWCZ re-opened its gallery. Fabulous event. The Club is proud to welcome three artists: Derrick Feole, American photographer, with his Swiss landscape photography. Miranda Fierz, a young artist from Lucerne, showed her paintings. Madame Tricot, a world-reknowned knitting artist, presented her patisserie, her sausages and “Navalny`s last words”. Come by and see the exhibition (until Nov. 4).

We’re excited we can now share the news: The Round Robin magazine has been completely redesigned over the summer! The brand-new September/October issue will be coming very soon, making its way to your mailbox of choice. When you joined AWCZ, you had the opportunity to choose the print magazine or the digital alternative. Your membership listing shows this information, so now is a good time to confirm whether you will receive yours as a printed copy or a digital PDF. Once you are logged in, go to the three dots at the far right of the menu and choose Members > Directory and enter your name. Scroll to the bottom of the entry page to see your choice. While the print run is already set for the upcoming issue, should you wish to change your preference for future issues, please contact editor@awczurich.org with your name and your updated preference.
