2024 Election Countdown for Overseas Americans

August 08, 2024 18:48 | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Overseas voters have a shorter election year and face more barriers than domestic voters. Use a safe, secure nonpartisan website to register to vote or request
a ballot if you are already registered.

These include the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP–https://www.fvap.gov) or the US Vote Foundation (https://www.usvotefoundation.org). ©

Key dates
When to register: now. Local election officials need time to process your registration/ballot request form.
21 September – States are required to send absentee ballots to all overseas voters who requested them
28 September – Recommended date for overseas citizens to mail their ballots back to the US
1 October – Recommended date for overseas voters whose ballots have not arrived to send in a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB).

Get a FWAB from FVAP (https://www.fvap.gov/uploads/FVAP/Forms/fwab.pdf) or the US Vote Foundation (https://www.usvotefoundation.org/vote/federal-write-in-absentee-ballot).
