PAWZ: Jennifer Scholée
The Science of Clean Water in Switzerland
Wednesday, October 21, 2026
The Professional American Women of Zurich (PAWZ) invite you to join The Science of Clean Water in Switzerland presented by Jennifer Scholée.
Dive into the world of rivers and lakes and discover how surface water quality is monitored and protected in Switzerland and beyond. I’ll break down how water quality is assessed, highlight national efforts to improve it, and share my own career journey in this field, from California through Mexico, the Netherlands, and now in Switzerland. We’ll also touch on simple ways you can help keep waterways clean.
Jennifer Schollée is an environmental chemist with over 15 years of experience in water quality assessment, environmental monitoring, and analytical chemistry. She currently serves as a Specialist for Surface Waters at the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, where she leads monitoring programs for micropollutants, nutrients, and ecological water quality. Jennifer holds a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich and has extensive expertise in non-target screening, wastewater treatment processes, and ecotoxicology. Throughout her career, she has worked in academia, government, and industry, contributing to research, environmental policy, and applied water management.
