The Fitness Walkers meet every Thursday morning (rain or shine!) at 9:30 a.m. at Bellevue. Every week we explore different areas around the city of Zürich: sometimes we enjoy walking along the lake or along one of the rivers that wind through our beautiful city; sometimes we explore one of the many neighborhoods.

No matter where we go, we always enjoy walking and talking with each other! After the walk we'll often grab a coffee or lunch somewhere nearby.

Prose poems, lyric essays, journal entries, instagram captions— these are just some of the forms we'll play with in our journey through reading and writing memory. Join us for our monthly Women's Circle for connection and support.

A women's circle is a safe space for women to come together, to share, connect, support, and empower each other. It is a space where each person is held, heard, and supported. Gathering in circle is an ancient tradition that helps us follow our internal wisdom to find what we need to heal and grow. It allows us to create common understanding amongst women, free of judgement. 

Circle is a fun and supportive environment where you can switch off, relax and focus on yourself all while enjoying the connection and support of other women. 

Each circle will have a specific theme such as self-love, gratitude, intuition, full/new moon, etc. We will include different elements of breath work, meditation, movement, music and maybe even a small craft. 

Come as you are: Wear what you are comfortable in or what makes you feel beautiful. 

Please bring a pillow to sit on. Yoga mats are available at the club.

Originally from Chicago, Briana has worked as an Interior Designer for over 15 years, and she spent many years teaching. She is a mother of 2 boys who love to learn and be as creative and inquisitive as their parents. After leaving design to be at stay at home mom in Küsnacht and seeking a creative outlet, she started planning Summer Camps and daily art and science activities for the neighbor’s kids… and Craftivity was born. She volunteers her time at the American Women's Club of Zurich for Crafternoons and organizes all the kids parties. Locally, she organizes the Kuesnacht Halloween Trick or Treat map and enjoys volunteering at her children's schools.

To inspiring music we will enjoy a grounded dance style that plays with rhythm, dynamics and off-balance movements. Sarah Stead started her ballet training in Montreal, eventually studying and performing both in ballet and contemporary dance forms, in New York City, including Dance Theatre and Butoh. She studied traditional dance forms in Laos, Bali and India, and has choreographed for both theatre and dance productions. She has taught ballet and contemporary classes as well as choreography to children through to adults at schools and colleges in New York City and Glasgow. She currently teaches contemporary technique classes in Zürich, at the ASVZ.

Rosy Hernández is a Mexican soprano who completed her Bachelor of Music at the Universidad Regiomontana in her hometown Monterrey. She was already a regular soloist in the University Chorus and also began singing with other classical music ensembles outside the University. She has won prizes in various competitions in Mexico, the USA and Europe.

Self-defense is a countermeasure that involves defending the health and well-being of oneself from harm.

In this workshop we will look how stress affects us, and prohibits us of feeling safe and calm. We will learn how to regulate ourselves in simple solo and partner exercises and how to find peace even under pressure.

This workshop is appropriate for all ages.
